No one has a monopoly on energy retailing.
I get adverts from different companies offering me energy services on a near-weekly basis.
If energy prices are regulated, then so too should grocery prices be regulated. And petrol prices. And the cost of clothes. And the cost of cars. And the cost of haircuts. And of coffee. And of legal services. And ... and... and...
This is a problem brought about by a succession of inept governments.
