    "I guess we will find out. If they do, get on NIMBY alert, who wants the plant? Who wants the waste? Coode Island? Anglesea? Wonthaggi? Maybe get some water out of the desal plant?" ....... Doesn't that just sound like what is happening now with renewables? IMO the big difference is environmental footprint. So much larger for Renewables. The issue as you say is legislation. People are starting to wake up. I noted recently that a poll of younger folk (18-25) were more in favour of nuclear. I could only guess that this group were not poisoned by those teachers old enough to be around back in 1983. I can definitely see this issue coming to a head. But then again if we dont change course then it will mean our investment in STX and gas will be OK. You only need to look at California to see where we are heading. Over last 20 years gas has increased big time.
