Surely WBC will be calling an emergency board room meeting shortly to discuss bonuses. The share price parameters, triggers and benchmarks will have to be reset substantially lower to enable full bonuses to be received. There is no way the board could have foreseen the impact of COVID-19 on world markets and Westpac. The board and directors have families to feed as well so it’s only fair to receive money for which they would have been entitled to in the normal course of events.
