I worded that a bit wrong but pull up a chart of the XFJ and look at pre short ban , lots of nice pops on a regular basis , most of those are caused by short sellers buying to cover positions , soon as the short ban came into effect the pops almost ceased to exist with basically waterfall price action with no respite . ie no buying due to no shorts to cover . Hope you understand this , i am not going to get into a debate about this . the point is asx thought banning shorts would stop the down , it didnt and may have made it worse
