I held Auckland International Airports when it announced a dividend in mid February then cancelled payment on 17 March. The shareprice fell by a small amount (20c) that day then recovered and went higher. Scrapping the dividend is a way of strengthening the balance sheet without raising equity or increasing borrowings. Prudent capital management is a good thing.
