Not sure which part of my comment you disagree with?
WBC has certainly had a good run and if you read my posts all the banks have been easy money since the Covid lows.
Of course performance will always be skewed depending on the time frame and starting point, a point laboured constantly by others in regard to WBC previous highs 9 years ago.
My comment on lagging is referring to overall performance since Covid lows and I will attach below a relative comparison graph for the 3 banks since then.
(Apologies I couldn't fit start in, but graph starts around end March 2020)
Of course performance in recent times has been pretty similar for those 3 banks but as you can see from this chart WBC took a hit around Nov 2021 so it has had that gap, particularly to NAB as I mentioned.
WBC unfortunately was never able to capitalise on its size as it should have consolidated its position as no 2 some time ago.
As I said I expect the gap to NAB will reduce over time which means WBC has a real chance of getting back to No 2 (MC). It is already above ANZ.
I was never much of a fan of WBC but the wheel eventually turns in regard sentiment and perhaps WBC can get back to where it should be....
