There maybe a place for 4DS technology in the bottleneck gap
They are talking positioning in the AI sector, whereas originally they were targetting storage class memory
Retention is not exceptional and is discussed as tunable from seconds to days from their website
One of the tradeoffs with retention will be endurance
High temperature tolerance etc also in question, so unlikely to suit automotive etc
There is always a tradeoff with new technology and 4DS are not in the NVM space which WBT is targetting
If 4DS can successfully scale to 20nm the audience may grow and their goal is to sell the IP and not to fully develop an actual product
Still many years to go before any commercialisation if and when a buyer appears
