Not sure if anyone here has already mentioned this, but we seem to have a new kid on the block - UltraRAM:

It appears to be architecturally similar to flash memory, but considerably more complex. Like 4DS it promises to serve as a nonvolatile RAM.
Not to be confused with this:

which appears to be part of the memory hierarchy (perhaps positioned between cache and RAM) in an AMD accelerator chip.
The Toms Hardware articles make it sound like this will be coming to a device near you within a couple of years. However, Wikipedia makes clear that it is still at early research stage.
