Personally, I hold a mix of both.
WCN heads for the long term holding.
WCNOA Options for the short term trade
Lately, there appears to be a link on a number of stocks where a CR is done a couple of months prior to Options expiring.
This appears intended to provide liquidity to the Brokers, who can then use that to manufacture trading volume along with well timed announcements - in the hope that the market will take the lead and push the shareprice up, thus getting all those Options into the money.
But of course we all know that type of thing never occurs on the ASX.
Anyways, $5k spent on Options can increase to $10k quite quickly.
But then again... it's basically the same as betting on Red or Black at the Casino!
Personally, I hold a mix of both. WCN heads for the long term...
