Thor Mining Plc ("Thor" or "the Company") (AIM, ASX: THR) notes the announcement made by Western Desert Resources Limited ("WDR") on 18 September 2012 that WDR has received a conditional offer from Meijin Energy Group to acquire all of the listed shares in WDR.
WDR is currently the majority owner of the Spring Hill Gold Project. Thor has acquired a 25% interest in the Spring Hill Project and has rights to increase that interest to 80%. Thor has completed necessary exploration expenditure requirements to increase its equity interest in the Spring Hill Project to 51% and this is currently being ratified by WDR. WDR is also a Thor shareholder, with a holding of 5.86% of the issued share capital of Thor.
Thor has had no discussions with Meijin Energy Group, but expects to do so in due course.
