WDS Cost Base Calc

Guys,

I apologise if this has been explained in an earlier thread but just want a double check of my understanding of the WDS cost base calculation

BHP dividend entitlement calculation
WDS shares at COB 31st May 2022
$29.76

Merger Ratio
5.534

Dividend is WDS share price divided by the merger ratio, thus:
29.76 / 5.534

Dividend per share $5.38
Imputation Credit per share $2.30
(Assuming fully franked)

but in lieu of the divdend we get allocated WDS on 1st June

WDS Cost Base
Calculated as merger ratio x BHP dividend
5.534 x 5.38

$29.76 (per share) being the price of WDS COB 31st May 22
with the acquisition recorded as 1st June 2022

Finally, there is no change to BHP cost base
