ABC will claim freedom of the press. Bluntly if they trespassed they should be charged as well IMO. The encouragement given by a national broadcaster filming is significant. Shame it will be police prosecuting nit WDS as WDS woudl be well within rights to go hard and request all communications rather than just worry about a trespass charge. Media are liek politiciand where IMO they ask to be told about something but nit the detail so tehy claim tehy turn up to an address and are " unaware" who is at that address etc etc.

Frankly the ABC should be better than tahn to turn up on request and with mobile phone footage and groups running their own media departments to supply footage etc are just puttung themselves at great risk by attending. Hard to imagine that was the best allocation of ABC resources by a news or doco director unless tehy are doing yet more greenwashing style news / doco?

Comments from defending lawyer were a classic- something along teh lines of - police must have known it was happening as 6 oficers were already onsite so they must be monitoring group closer than they thought - ha ha What the hell do they expect with the recent threat at head office an dloss of work and time etc etc.

Odds of getting a magistrate that goes hard? Small but anything that stops persona;l attacks is good- nothing wrong with peaceful protest
