Yes WDS has been a super stock in my portfolio too, but I’m really kind of sad that our respective governments have let it get to this point - there is a bit of “right place right time” for Woodside.
Even yesterday with the Victorian govt banning new home gas connections - it’s a short sighted move ignoring the fact that as a nation we need all current sources of energy to fill the void and create a roadmap to a cleaner energy future. Gas was touted as a cleaner option to coal, now we’ll just export the extra production OS.
talking heads yesterday suggested this would be cheaper for households in the long run - yeah right. I’d like them to explain how putting further stress on the already strapped power grid is going to deliver that.
