Nobody fears a cheap offer , they simply reject it. The main point though is that the last time some company , Shell , made an offer for Woodside it was denied by FIRB on the grounds that it was not in Australia’s interest. A FIRB rejection would be even more emphatic today . Probably would be the same for Santos now as they are the second last big Australian oil company still standing.
