My take on Woodside is that it is better to buy at a fair price with little to no expectation of capital growth, but be content with the yield it can achieve in a normal environment where oil price won’t lead to higher inflation.
if they can turn a good profit and pay share holders a yield closer to 8% at todays oil price, that is a great long term return
the long term yield will very much depend on the entry price, assuming all things being equal.
