It's the lazy way to fix a hole in your books due to incompetence.
Rod Campbell, an economist at progressive thinktank the Australia Institute, said it was “madness” not consider a higher tax burden.
“This is absolute textbook economics on what you should be taxing,”
“You should be taxing the things you want less of – fossil fuel production – and you should tax higher when profits are over and above a normal return to capital.”
I'm sure the Feds and state governments are keeping a close eye...
