I can tell you plenty that get people jailed for fraud when the data is changed.

The other BIGGGGG flaw that the man on the street can be forgiven for not understanding is the claim of trends that lie wholly within the error margins of the data being taken. This is just total bull shit that only Stats 101 is need to see. To then extrapolate this rubbish forward in time is a more heinous error.

Thank you nippy. Explained it probably the best and simplest I have seen, especially about error margins.

Have a look at the NASA "hottest year ever" assumptions. Turns out for 2017 it was only really a 39% chance of being between the hottest and 22nd hottest year. And that was with homogenised/adjusted data. Yet MSM etc say "hottest year ever!!!".
