"as IMO, a 1m sea level rise this century is our best case scenario."
Red, you keep referring to your opinion of a guaranteed minimum 1m rise in sea level, but you wont say WHEN you believe it will start.. I am genuinely interest in your opinion on this.
We are now 20% of the way through this century and there is literally NO discernible difference in the sea level. We should have a good 20cm by now, or do you expect it all to happen in one go at some point in the future?
I have been fishing a number of rock ledges on the NSW coast between Jervis Bay and Ballina regularly for nearly 30 years and I can assure you there is nothing at all visible changing in the sea level. For a rise to have ANY impact on ANY aspect of human life, its going to have to be noticeable to humans at some point.. If you believe a 2m rise would wipe out 50% of human life, then surely a 10% (20cm) rise should at the very least be visible to those around the coast line?
Im interested in your opinion, but I am trying to reconcile it with what we see in the real world.
