With respect to the significance of volume in any price move, I am reminded of the old story from the City of London:
A stock broker rings up his client.
"I have some good news and some bad news for you. Which would you like to hear first?"
"I suppose I better hear the bad news", replies the investor.
The stock broker draws breath.
"Remember that stock I bought for you last week at 500 pence? It is now trading at 50 pence."
"Oh" replies the investor, "And what's the good news?"
"It went down on low volume."
