Considering I have been the owner of various businesses for 30 years, I can assure you the short term does mean in the next couple of weeks. Another company I'm invested in announced something happening "in the short term" in November, within 2 weeks a good announcement was made (PO3), so yes short term is considered by ASX listed companies to be a couple of weeks.
If WFE meant within a couple of months (now 6 weeks have passed) then they should not have used the words "short term"; medium term, or in the next couple of months would have been more appropriate.
