    I agree with Goldbear777 ...."thats the whole point about gold really - historically it was the thing you wore on a necklace as you fled across the border to escape a war - and knew people would accept."

    Historically people have fled wars with jewelry including gold and diamonds because they are lightweight, tangible and a universal commodity that can be quickly converted to currency/resources in other global environments.

    My money is in the all things shiny: gold, platinum and high quality diamonds.
