Or perhaps the Cathars did not limit their understanding to physical sexual gender but only as it represented broader forces like Male-Active and Female-Passive ... and for the "Trinity" ... the third element of reconciling.
In practice of course, Active and Passive are not rigidly tied to physical gender.
I think those poor Cathars were relatively lucky to have been exterminated by the Catholic Church as voicing such ideas these days would result in extermination by PC and Social Media .. surely a fate worse than death.
There is an increasing lack of clarity in our society .. making it very easy for people to imagine a rainbow is the property of a select group.
