BBC news recently reported on a recent survey of 1000 UK muslims which showed that:
x 86% of Muslims feel that religion is the most important thing in their life
x 36% of 16 to 24-year-olds believe if a Muslim converts to another religion they should be punished by death, compared with 19% of over-55s
x 59% of Muslims would prefer to live under British law, compared with 28% who would prefer to live under Sharia law.
x 37% of 16 to 24-year-olds prefer Sharia compared with 17% of over-55s
x 7% "admire organisations like al-Qaeda that are prepared to fight the West". 13% of 16 to 24-year-olds agreed with this statement compared with 3% of over-55s
It seems that younger muslims have more extreme views that over-55s. I wonder what the response would be in Australia?
