    Not sure how you know that those numbers quoted by blueballs came from Munich Re given he at no point provided any reference to that end.

    But even if that is the case and they are quoted in real terms, as I've shown in my preceding post, the rate of increase is no more than the rate of increase in the global economy.

    And, of course, more important than just money is the loss of human life and as was shown in an earlier post per capita deaths due to natural disasters fell by 21% over the last 2 decades compared to the previous two decades.

    So any claims that weather-related disasters are becoming more impactful on society are not supported by the facts (well, the facts as supplied by the poster in question, which is why I pointed it out).
