    CMIIW, but Sev.en trying to acquire assets by calling in the bonds seems like a dumb plan. The bonds aren't loan-to-own, and even if a distressed sale was triggered, the assets will go to the highest bidder. And there'll be a lot of interested parties with deep pockets already lining up.

    Sev.en might make a nice profit on the bonds, but would very likely miss out on the assets they were really after.

    Meanwhile, surely EMG - or the usual lenders - would only have to refinance/renegotiate the ABL to defuse the situation. Then the bondholders will have to wait for maturity.

    The covenant test is for yesterday, but what's the fine print on that... it'll take a little while to close the books for May I guess, and we mightn't know straight away if the ABL lenders are demanding early repayment, let alone claiming a default on that repayment.
