Any problems now seem to happen 500kms north of MWE on the border with Burundi and Rwanda. Due to the nature of the terrain the only way up is by water one rebel army from before the accord is still causing trouble. Anvil had a problem a few years ago when NGOs accused them of supplying vehicles for the local militia but it was disproved.
The DRC has a large multinational UN force that has the backing of the govt.
The mining by expats gives both transparency and income for the DRC and providing local community projects (ie schools and water wells)are done everyone is happy.
Balance the sovereign risk against the tenor of the resource I feel its not often you get the copper grades and length of intercepts that are coming through for such a small cap company
