Well that's retail holders for you - confirmation bias and shaping things to support their position is always a common fallacy.
One key reason the sell down may have triggered a big exit is someone may have been waiting for a big chippie announcement. This announcement may be one of the 'chippies' in the earlier MOU announcements alluded to? Or the fact that that is hush hush and we are going down the china route could mean other avenues closing. It may be more of the market expecting much higher blue sky and potential partnerships , and when they saw the move towards these china chippies, while they look great to retail, isn't what the smart money expected. Where intel, GE, BMW, and all of thes eprior expectations of qualcomm etc were expected, it's a China chippie which admittedly some retial holders haven't heard of. THe china market is great, but I guess the market's concern is it isn't the like sof Intel partnering (yet) to take on China, or GE.... combined with traders bailing for the exit on the lack of a FOMO push up.

In the end these distribution agreements always worry the more short term holders as it could mean revenue is still off the immediate horizon for now (it wouldn't be the first time being stuck in a MOU/'distribution agreement' ridden company but no actual physical sales and revenue progress and milestones being hit). NOt saying XPE will , but it certainly could be the concerns of someone with big pockets looking for a much more material announcement.
