It is an interesting article SP. Inflation is measured by a container of products that are constantly moving up and down. The analysts will say that when the overall price it higher then we have inflation and v.v. My comments would be that in the current marketplace we have the million dollar house that is now selling for $400,000 and the $100,000 stock portfolio now worth $80,000. Items like this need to be thrown into the mix (even if the beancounters do not use them). There is no doubt that many items in the stores are rising in price but we cannot ignore the 42" LCD screen that is plummeting in price. I guess it is just working out the balance to determine whether we are in an inflationary or deflationary situation.
