I believe in the long run the US economy will no longer rule the world. The axis of economic power should shift to the Asia region so in the long term I am quite optimistic about Australian shares. It will take time for the US to uncouple from the rest of the world however. What madness to see Australia as a risky place and the US as a safe haven! We are and will continue to be major suppliers to the future economic giants of Asia. Because the irrationality of the market can exceed my solvency I will sit this out and wait for market exhaustion. I am very glad I sold 90% of my shares over the last week.
