Show me then that the general trend is still not down.
The east coast of Australia hasnt burned for the last 2 fire seasons in fact there were very few fires. The few years prior to the 19/20 fires was nothing out of the ordinary .
Fires in the US are way below where they were in the1920s to 1950s and any increase lately would be attributed mainly to increased hazzard reduction practices as they realised that the Smokey the Bear theory of putting out all fires was the wrong thing to do.
Plenty of research on that.
We certainly arent seeing the worst fires in history and thats been my point from the start.
