    Hi Justlookin and all,

I agree the current generation are indeed doing it tuff, however, in my opinion as a one of the boomer generation it’s never been particularly easy to get started.

I can recall working six months without a day off underground mining 50-60 hours per week were a regular occurrence and in 1981 making 21% mortgage payments and again 19% in the early nineties.

Standing on my own two feet and making the best of the situation and honouring any agreements I made hasn’t done me a great deal of harm. I guess one can sit about and worry about poor little me or one can just get on with things. I dare say the children of most baby boomers grew up with good role models; maybe the nanny state has finally shaped the population how they want them docile, without opinions and easy to govern!

Have a look sometime at some of the degree programs on offer at our universities and see the futile way students can pass away a few years and still remain unemployable!

Cheers and very best regards: Andy
