When the rest of the world is overrun with covid and we've managed to mostly keep it out, we are the envy of the world. But tonight of course, the miscreants that brought you the latest outbreak are pushing the big lie, "we have to learn to live with it it" NO WE DONT.

Australians on mass were told if you are overseas then come back to this country urgently, that was a year and a half ago, your time is well and truly up. If you are overseas now and can't get back, that's on you, no one else.

You have no right to come back and put the lives of 25 million at risk. Health risk, disruption to ordinary life, statewide economic carnage, having to wear a mask for years should you dare to go out in public. Stay overseas, and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

Vaccinated people can still carry the virus, there are no 'immunity passports'. The Indian strain is more contagious in children than previous strains, that's another health and education nightmare just waiting to unfold. We are now just one genetic leap away from something completely ruinous.

35 years ago international travel was a rare and expensive activity. Keep it that way, pay for your own hotel quarantine, severely limit the numbers coming back, until the rest of the world catches up with Australia. We have to learn to live without international travel, otherwise there is no living.
