Based on what I've seen so far, those who fell did prove to have poor fundamentals e.g. ABS, AFG, BNB....
The shorters did their homework thoroughly and acted logically.
While I'm not surprised by the underperformance of financials in general, I also don't know what specifically is going on with MQG today.
MQG must know though. After all, they are in the business of trading rumours (or truth). Interesting that they didn't even try to blame it on the UBS downgrade.
This one will be very interesting to watch.
