I mentioned that I got bit by a Sydney Funnel-web. I picked up some leaf litter and there was a big female in the leaf litter. At first I thought I had driven a thorn into my finger and I released the leaves then grabbed them again. This time I checked and saw this huge spider sink its 6mm fangs into my finger. I mean they went in so effortlessly all the way, not just the tips. Then it reared them fangs back to go for the third time and I tossed it away, raced in side, put a bandage on my arm and got my wife to run me to Bankstown hospital.

They put a small bore in one arm and a big bore in the other so that when they took the pressure bandage off they would determine just how serious I was and go big or small with antivenin.

I asked the doctor what the symptoms might be and he said it will be like getting hit in the face with a sledge hammer.

Anyway, I was not poisoned. Apparently these siders can choose to release poison or not. I must have looked inedible.

The doctor said to me that my blood pressure was a bit high and I had to remind him that I had just been bitten by a big ugly spider.

So yes, my heart was a good deal younger then and made it through. Today I'd be okay because I don't care as much about living and dying.

Rookwood is only around the corner . Haha inedible....you're lucky it didn't turn to serious.

Last year a wasp got me twice close to my bicep, I felt a pinch on my arm and thought my shirt was pulling on a hair,ignored it, few seconds later felt burning pinch again, moved my sleeve up a bit and noticed the sucker there.

Worst bite though was a few years back, a dog got me good on my calf. Looking for pic to post.
