Thanks, Gosouth. Like you, and, I'm sure, most on this forum, we'd love to see something more than the broad-brush time chart which has been previously published.
However, I doubt whether there is anything that SYR management could say at this stage, regarding their plans and schedules, prior to actually releasing the Scoping Study. If we are reading correctly what has been hinted in announcements, and stated by posters on this forum, ASIC simply won't allow it.
All the same, the discussion around the Scoping Study delay looks to be something of a storm in a teacup. Analysing the new cores may take a couple of weeks, but plant size and location, and initial pit planning, are very unlikely to require any significant changes.
If that is the case, then the existing ("draft?") Scoping Study will not take long to update.
As an aside, we should not forget that all this is really byplay. It has no effect on the marketing effort. There could be a couple of weeks delay on equipment design, but, with a startup scheduled for late 2014, that will be lost in the blur. If there looked like being an impact on production, SYR could simply bypass the Scoping Study, and go straight to a Preliminary Feasibility Study, which requires a higher level of precision in the resource estimate, but has to be done ultimately anyway.
My guess, FWIW, is that we will see the Scoping Study by early August, and, in two months, we'll wonder what all the fuss was about.
