Magnis are manufacturing 99.95+% spherical graphite from the 99% concentrate. The purity is upgraded during the process to create spherical because of the location of the impurities along the flake, rather than within.
Test work on the Jumbo and Super Jumbo has seen results of 99.6% as per the BFS but is not considered necessary for the intended target markets, and so the extra processing cost is not warranted. Jumbo and Super Jumbo are not proposed to be sold into the battery market as the economics of it do not make sense at current prices. That does not just go for Magnis, it goes for everyone.
What I think of Frank's comments is that you and your mate Doughnut are intentionally muck-raking by bringing up a video that is almost a year and a half old. Rather than look at it as an opportunity to scream and shout about how Magnis failed a timeline, perhaps use it as a case study of the pitfalls of reliance on Chinese contracts to be honoured.
