I would have thought that if we went for it for the ideal power supply - that 'could' tie in nicely with aiding with poverty reduction - by providing cheap power (part of the ideal) - it should also then assist with feeding the planet because food production may well be going indoors and use power. Human misery would lessen if we lessened poverty and as poverty goes south - so does health go north ------ all of this should fall into place far easier than by war - which, yes, certainly does bring technological leaps - but, at huge pain and suffering
3. we will never have full control
re. research -------------- absoutely agree - including upping the budgets massivly for general research - it's where the biggest gems have been found and it's the one area where conservative political parties have gutted by their idiotic policies ------- once that mindset was set - other parties basically seem to have had to copy - going against it is not understandable by public in general and it's very easy to attack politically - hence, we, as a society have cut our nose off to spite our face (something like that)
