Agree with cmulli that cash on hand was clearly a problem. Would have to thing more deeply about the overspending question.

This ann is quite interesting as, not only is it a clarification of the Newcrest deal, it's also somewhat of an "advertorial" for the company- they didn't really need to include all the detail about the other sites and JVs but they did.

With the caveat that, like all advertorials, the spin is positive, if I had to introduce someone to the company I'd give them this ann. I suspect they're trying to cash in on the news the JV has generated.

But yes, agree they were desperate. SO 40% of something I suppose is better than 100% of nothing. So if FNT really ends up with a 10Moz monster (and that's the dream) the SP would still be pretty good.
