Sydney teen charged with terror offence
A 17-year-old boy from Sydney's southwest has been charged with terrorism-related offences by the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team.
After being alerted to several social media posts, the teenager was arrested at his home at The Oaks and taken to Camden police station where he was charged late on Tuesday night, police said.
He's been charged with preparation for, planning a terrorist act and using a telecommunications network with intention to commit a serious offence.
He's been refused bail and will face Parramatta Children's Court on Wednesday.
The Joint Counter Terrorism Team say this was an isolated investigation
