After months of not having a market giving you a blow by blow price you lose touch. A offer arrives for your shares (usually seems a bit low) and you having no yardstick. You cannot say, "where is the 20% premium". You have moved on to other listed shares and you concede to the offer without any fight. "just give me some cash" It's too hard."
