The sad reality of the situation is that those ‘anti’s’ making the loudest noise have no comprehension of ‘cause and effect’. A zero-carbon footprint is an idealistic dream which is not verging towards realism until such time that there is a working infrastructure in place as a viable alternative.
Electric cars – hydrogen etc.etc. hyped by those wearing their ‘green credential hats’ might sound like a good idea to the masses that believe everything they are fed and can see nothing beyond what they absorb through manipulated media coverage.
The same is happening here in the UK with a huge government push for folk to buy electric vehicles – but last Bank-Holiday weekend there were queues of cars 15 deep waiting hours to charge their vehicles in limited charging stations before they could continue with their journeys. Add into the mix the exorbitant charging cost should one use one of these public charging station which is not far off the price one would pay for petrol/diesel plus the inflated prices that are being charged for electric vehicles – and most of those who have taken the ‘leap of faith’ and parted with their hard-earned cash so they can be ‘green’ are now suffering the consequences.
Until such time that there is a workable viable cost-effective alternative with the infrastructure in place to facilitate the zero carbon footprint ambitions of the likes of the ‘greens’ – whether they like it or not – folk will either end up living in darkness with no ability to heat their homes or cook food as even solar power alternatives are too costly and space restrictive for the average home – or they are going to have to back down and concede that until viable alternatives are actually available the status quo remains.
