I passed an accident scene two weeks ago on the Pacific Highway. 60km zone. A sedan in the middle of the road all smashed up and further on a police vehicle smashed into a tree.
A woman was killed outright and her husband in intensive care. The sedan was making a right turn it looked like when this police ute arrived at speed. Those things are little trucks on 8 ply tires - they shouldn't be allowed to speed in them.
Years ago I was staying south of Sydney. About 10pm we heard sirens. Maybe 6 or 7 police cars tearing past on the main road, in ones and twos. Police helcopter with a searchlight in the sky. The police cars were going 150 in the 60 zone no risk.
We were thinking maybe a robbery? Maybe a bomb? Runaway trucker? Industrial explosion? Chemical spill?
The next day it was reported three teenagers had stolen their mother's car. They had stopped after a short run but unfortunately the hounds were having fun.
