The only good news I can see would be from extrapolating the data into the future. The global net annual increase in coal power has been declining since 2015. If current trends continue globally there will be a net decrease from 2026 onwards.
China peaked production of new coal power in 2007 and is now producing new plants by less than one third annually. The only significant countries going against the trend and increasing construction are Indonesia, Japan, South Africa, Columbia and Turkey.
