Yes, i get that. Russia sitting pretty, was sitting pretty. Just cant understand why they would risk it all in starting an all out war. World war 1 started because France, UK etc put crippling sanctions on Germany because Germany was getting too big for its boots as far as Allies were concerned. Germany got painted into a corner. And even a fox will jump at yout throat if it is put in that position. Otherwise it just runs off.
