You remind of me the first time I tried road (bicycles) racing. I charged off from the start line naively thinking that after a few minutes someone would come and take my place at the front of the peleton and I could drop back and ride in everyone else's slipstream for a bit.......just like on the TV.
Nobody came to relieve me on the front of the peleton...and I was blown out the back of the peleton 2km from the finish.
