In reality it is not multiculturalism but multi-nationalism, whereby each different ethnic group has set up their own enclave (territory) within Australia. Essentially, we have become a series of smaller nations with the broader context of this country and with the inability of some groups to properly assimilate. No wonder when tensions arise in their home country of birth that their over zealous frustrations surface in the public arena. But that's no excuse for inappropriate behaviour as was demonstrated the other day at the Sydney Opera House but it does clearly show that some ethnic groups are definitely not compatible with our way of life and should never have been allowed to emigrate here in the first place! How, politicians on all sides get it terribly wrong!!!!
Surely, we don't want what happened and is happening in Palestine to occur here as well but with all these various ethnic groups congregating as if they were still living in their country of origin, what could go wrong? Are they Australian's or not? Many appear not and really never will! Maybe their descendants will with any luck. Let's hope so!
Anyway, one possible advantage of course is that you could save the cost of an overseas air fare by simply visiting the various ethnic enclaves here!!!! Now that could mean an even cheaper holiday!!!! But then again there could be the occasional enclave to avoid!!!
