    Marcos was booted out decades ago and yes the filipino people do not like him.
    I spent over 2 years in the Philippines and intend to retire there in 3 years.
    Do not believe all you see on dramatic documentaries.
    There are over 100 million people in the Philippines and most are just trying to live normal lives.
    Yes some use chabu but I did not see anyone use it in my time there.
    Most filipino work and are paid 500 pesos per day. It is not enough. It buys 2 charcoal chickens.
    It like working working all day in Australia and the employer gives you $20. Could you live on $20 a day?
    Philippines is land of contrasts.
    Shopping malls are huge and very impressive.
    The squatter areas are interesting but can be depressing when you see hungry children.
    They keep on smiling and play simple games because they are resilient.
