Unilife appears to be betting the Company on the success of the Wearable Injector Project. But should you bet with them or against them. Here are a couple of things to consider and questions to ask about wearable injectors:
Does Unilife have any patents issued on their proposed product,
Have patents been filed,
Has the US patent office responded to any filing that may have been made,
Has any patent they may have filed been turned down?
Without any answers to those questions, it is just a wild guess which way to go. I know some of you will say that Orbi and Amgen know more than the average shareholder and they are satisfied. Shareholders have a right to know as much as those two do.
Once you have answers to the first set of questions, the next thing you have to know is can Unilife actually produce the product successfully. So far Unilife has not shown an ability to produce anything in a commercially successful manner. They gave up on the Unitract syringe after six or seven years, they have now apparently given up on the Unifill PFS after five or six years. What makes anyone think the Wearable will be a different story?
And, if they can develop a manufacturing system for the Wearable, how much is that production line going to cost and how will the Company raise the capital to buy the line and what will that capital cost?
