US reports are that the rains received are far from drought breaking due to the significant lack of rain for some time.
Also, precipitation at this time of year in California would normally have deposited a fair bit as snow in the Sierras, however there was very little snow from these storms meaning not much of a snow pack for this time of year. That will impact them later in the water year.
