Hi cdiggy,
When the price is sitting tight near the Highs... it can often lead to New Highs. Read some of my index posts from 2009 ... calling for Substantial upside.
When there is a Gap in the chart... some punters look for the Gap to close. Sometimes it's just a sign of strength and leads to more upside.
Search the web on Chart Gaps... and trading/Buying the New High.
